The word “BROAD” and the Australian Royal Commission

perhaps i am making too much of this, but was anyone else struck with the number of times the word ‘broad’ and ‘broadly’ were used?

sometimes i wondered if it was due to coaching, in particular when the questioning put a person in a tight spot.

Fading is never 100% successful is it?

mum phoned last night to see how we all are.

after fifteen years away from meetings and my old jw life you'd think my fade could be called 'successful' and for the most part it is.

.. my resentment at being lied to and having wasted over thirty years of my life has left me like a glass of water full to the brim, it only takes a tap to make a mess.

I think we can all agree on one thing............ a real GOD would never ask his creation to mutilate their genitals, male or female. Jehovah is a loser.

many posters quote geoffrey jackson as saying " it would be presumptuous" to say that the gb is jehovah's sole spokesperson on earth.. what he actually said was that "it would seem to be quite presumptuous".

this is actually very clever, as adding "seem" to the sentence leaves the possibility that it isn't presumptuous to call themselves "jehovah's sole channel".

(at least in their eyes).

Well, he is just taking a page from the great spin master himself, Jehovah............... who supposedly inspired a book that started out with lots of war, hate, bigotry, sexism, intolerance etc and turned into the man with love flowing from his garments but not without adding lots of confusion through thousands of various verses which can be interpreted any way you want. We don't even know how to pronounce his real name.

This is obviously a very touchy subject for me and it makes me sick to think how much STUPID religious ideologies still play a part in our daily lives in the year 2016! We should be on Mars already, terra-forming it and inhabiting it, not discussing if "God" wants us to mutilate our child's genitals! But here we are!

a very close friend of mine has gotten his letter.

although he was planning to leave willingly, he told me that he can't help but feel a sense of being stabbed in the back by a bunch of self righteous traitors.

he gave tours for years, always telling the visitors "this is the best way of life, i would never change anything here and i'll never regret making this decision to come here.
